August 2023: I finally took up my DECRA fellowship that I was awarded in 2022. As I’ll be doing it part-time, it runs for 5 years!! It is the best feeling in the world to know that I can completely focus on the biogeography of Australia’s deserts - a subject that has been close to my heart for almost 20 years. Watch this space.
March 2022: I felt very humbled to be chosen as 1 of 4 invited speakers from Australia to speak at a webinar for International Geomorphology Week! So great to be able to talk to geomorphologists about how their work relates to the biogeographic patterns of the reptiles I study.
May 2021: It’s an exciting week here as we are gearing up for a major tissue diving mission at the South Australian Museum next week! I will be collecting genetic material from a bunch of Australian geckos which will form the basis for my research over the next 2 years. I just finished writing out 362 labels and now I have a callus on my finger - I haven’t had to write much more than a signature in a very long time!
